World Tour cycling teams appreciate holistic performance analysis

Team LottoNL-Jumbo starts using INSCYD

LottoNL-Jumbo started using INSCYD during the final preparation of their 2018 campaign. Starting in the training camps in spain during the preparation for their 2018 campaign, LottoNL-Jumbo started to use INSCYD. Beforehand the team used comprehensive lab testing with a few riders to compare the results of the lab tests against the results in INSCYD. Because of the excellent experience during this trial phase with INSCYD, the team entered a multi-year partnership with INSCYD.

Head of Performance Mathieu Heijboer:

"The results will show a clear picture of the shape of the rider at that moment.” In the end, it will improve the quality of training. “Based on the analyses of INSCYD, the coaches can correct the training they prescribed. We can control whether the training resulted in the particular improvements the coach pursued, and correct where needed.”

The ability to test the riders on field appeals both to athletes and their coaches — particularly those who normally have a hard time in a lab and prefer to ride outside every day.

“It’s an added value”, Heijboer said. “The test will become part of the training more and more. Our riders live all over the world. They don’t have to come to a fixed location, every rider can do it at home.“

Team LottoNL-Jumbo will make use of INSCYD regularly to monitor the progress particular metrics of athletic performance. Especially when it comes to the VLamax - the glycolytic power, there is a sweet spot which depends on the type of race a rider is aiming for.
